The Winner Take Nothing' is a case featured in Criminal Case Third Line: World Dominant, appearing as the 29th case of the game. It is the fifth case set in East Asia.
Plot
Upon business magnate Tobias Tzu's reports of a body there, Anabel and the player rushed to the New National Stadium and collected the body of sprinter Kawasaki Miyako, whose brain was removed from the head.
The five people were labelled as suspects: Tobias Tzu (business magnate), Yasumura Satoshi (The Greed's cult follower), Lana Campbell (sprinter), Liang Cheng-Davis (historian), and Kousaka Harumi (magazine shop owner).
While searching for investigations, Anabel and the player went to the field and found the ID card of Grayson Croft, who's been murdered by The Greed to protect the treasure. Suddenly, the oni-masked killer attacks them, but the player saved Anabel by ward off it using charm, allowing them to escape.
Mid-investigation, Henri told the team that Miyako was a cheater who made an exposure about her intimate relationship in Nana magazine. Later, Rosamund fought with her husband Cheng after finding out he knew that the victim was his niece from former sprinter, Kawasaki Akemi. The team eventually found enough evidence to incriminate Tobias.
Upon admitting to the murder, Tobias said that Miyako was his nephew's ex-wife, who he met in stadium three years ago. Three months after they were married, his nephew dies in accident and Miyako managed to win the golden medal four times. Tobias was then bankrupt it and lost all of money because Miyako assumed he was blamed for his nephew's death. After seeing Miyako cheating in sprint, he waits until she comes outside and then stabbed and removed her brain with kunai for being greedy and cheater. Judge Palamo sentenced Tobias to life in prison.
During An Impossible Sin (5/6), Hisao told Kevin and the player that he needed to get bitten by a bug whose venom caused hallucinations during Yasumura Satoshi's announcement of Tenshou's big plan. The team then found the bugs outside Kanda shrine, which Glenda used to devise an antidote to the hallucinations, finding out that the bug venom also induced fearlessness. After giving Glenda the antidote, they went to the stadium and installed a camera in a screen so they could watch The Greed give his big plan to protect the Dragon Mask.
Meanwhile, Anabel told Maggie and the player that she lost her cousin Beth Thompson after she had stormed out of the magazine shop. Anabel and the player retraced her steps and found her handbag and tablet. Per Taraji, Beth was compiling research notes on Simeon Mezentsev and said that she was ready to confront him in prison. After the team took Beth home after finding her confronting Simeon, she said she regained a memory of her being strapped to a chair surrounded by people in black hood. She then went to Simeon, figuring out he had the answers as he was the only person she could remember, but he seemed to genuinely not know anything of the affair.
After the events, the team watched Satoshi's announcement, where he said that the cult would prepare for assassination of the prime minister Jiang Tsui-ho, Jiang Shui's father, in two days so they could "shed the earthly body" and have his soul ascend to The Greed's mask, as the "divine messenger" required. The team then resolved to go to Keelung, Taiwan, to arrest The Greed for inciting assassination.
