The Murder of Jessica Cassidy is a case featured in Criminal Case Next Chapter: Agenda of Angst, appearing as the introductory case of the game. It is the tutorial case set in the country of State of Democratic Union.
Plot
Year ago...
20-year-old university student Jessica Cassidy receives a strange phone call from an unknown person. However, the caller turns sadistic and threatens her life. He reveals that her boyfriend Harry Jamieson is blackmail her via his computer and demanding her to break him up and return her home. After Jessica refuses to break him up, Harry is knocked out. When Jessica refuses to return home, her computer gone viral as the scareware "NightTerror" scares her before she is violently murdered by a masked killer, El Terror.
Next day, after Jessica Cassidy was reported dead at her house, Mandy and the player headed there to retrieve the dead body of Jessica, who was found violently stabbed in the abdomen. After gaining enough evidence from a lab analysis, a witness testimony, and a left-behind clue, the team arrested psychology student Harry Jamieson, who is assumed that he violently killed his girlfriend, for the murder. Despite his acquitted of that charge, Harry was sentenced to life imprisonment without chance of parole in maximum security prison.
One year after, Harry is committed suicide after he leave the message to Jessica, so everyone could forgive about his guilt forever. Still no clues or no motives of murder via NightTerror, Chief Seymore thus deemed the player prepared enough to take on a new case.
