– Case Teaser

Paddle Your Own Canoe is a case featured in Criminal Case Third Line: World Dominant, appearing as the 25th case of the game. It is the first case set in East Asia.

Plot

During opening sequence of East Asia, the young archaeologist Grayson Croft digs into the secret temple called Tenshou. He found the ancient Chinese scripts and reads it. He open the door to the hall, where the Dragon Mask lies in the pillar. Before he obtain it, Grayson saw the masked man, The Greed, who warn him to not touch it and it was sacred power for the Seven Deadly Sins, the notorious criminal organization. Ignoring this warnings, Grayson obtains the mask, but the cursed vengeful spirits terrorized him, forcing to him to left the mask and runs away before he fall to the ground. Unable to survive his fate, the Silence Slayer shows up, whispering into Grayson's ears "Scream for your life...?" before Grayson lets out the ear-piercing "Howie Long" scream as the killer stabbed him off-screen.

Hisao told Anabel and the player that the ancient temples being excavated under East Asia were that of the Temple of Tenshou. Hisao, Anabel, Maggie, and the player went to canoe tour to Potala Palace in Lhasa, China, where Anabel and the player found and collected the body of archaeologist Yeoh Xiulan, who was injected and poisoned with snake poison.

The five people were labelled as suspects: Feng Nuan (wuxia writer), Tobias Tzu (business magnate), Natalie Scott (witness), Jiang Shui (manhwa artist), and Liang Cheng-Davis (historian).

While searching for investigations, Anabel and the player were looking at the archaelogist's shack to found the map that lead into the Temple of Tenshou. Suddenly, the killer sets the venomous snakes in attempt to kill them. But the player uses the flute to taming it and escape from the shack.

Mid-investigation, Glenda said the archaeologists frequented the Dragon Beard Tea House like she did. Later, Shaheen said that the British employee and witness Natalie Scott had hired him to follow Xiulan around. The team then found enough evidence to arrest Natalie for the murder.

Upon admitting to the murder, Natalie said that she was tired from The Greed hounding her ever since Dragon Mask was discovered, and that she wanted Tenshou gone to get her life back. One sleep-deprived night, The Greed has blackmailed her, said that strange murder would scare everyone from the temple and would threaten her with death if she don't committing murder to get the Dragon Mask back. On her next visit to the discover, she snuck up on Xiulan, tied her up, and then inject her with snake poison to death so The Greed will leave her alive. Judge Palamo sentenced Natalie to 10 years in prison with mandatory counseling.

During An Impossible Sin (1/6), Anabel and the player talked to wuxia writer Feng Nuan about notorious criminal organization, Seven Deadly Sins. She said that they were followers of The Greed, who supposedly imparted his wisdom gained from Seven Deadly Sins. She also let slip that he talked to his followers in the tea bar, so the team went there and found the cult member's speech. Per Henri, the fingerprints on the speech were that of Yasumura Satoshi, who was released from jail three years ago after assassination attempt failure. They talked to Satoshi, who said that they believed the messenger of Seven Deadly Sins came in the form of the meteors that crashed in Antarctica a year prior since rookie agent Helen Maxwell goes missing. Satoshi denied being connected to SoftCircle, claiming that he was beyond "material concerns" before he left in order to meditate.

Meanwhile, Hisao and the player—with the help of Taraji, historian Liang Cheng-Davis, and business magnate Tobias Tzu—discovered that Dragon Mask fell into decline due to a devastating earthquake. After all the events, the Bureau takes flight to Beijing to resolved to look deeper into Temple of Tenshou.
